2. Giao tiếp khi đi mua sắm

Dưới đây là một số cụm từ thường sử dụng khi đi mua sắm. Không chỉ những câu người mua sắm dùng đến, mà những gì người bán nói bạn cũng cần phải hiểu. Bạn hãy đọc và ghi nhớ thật kĩ nhé:

• • Could/May I help you? (Tôi có thể giúp gì được cho bạn)
  • Could I try it (them) on? (Tôi có thể thử chúng không?)
  • How does it fit? (Nó có vừa vặn không?)
  • I’m looking for a cap. (Tôi đang tìm mua một cái mũ lưỡi trai)
  • I’d prefer red one to green one. (Tôi thích cái màu đỏ hơn cái màu xanh lá)
  • How much is this? (Cái này giá bao nhiêu?)
  • What is the price after the discount? (Giá sau chiết khấu là bao nhiêu?)
  • Have you got any things cheaper? (Bạn có món nào rẻ hơn không?)
  • Can you give me any off? (Bạn có thể giảm giá cho tôi không?)
  • How would you like to pay? (Bạn muốn thanh toán như thế nào?)

3. Luyện tập

Hãy tưởng tượng bạn đang ở Anh, trời rất lạnh và bạn muốn mua áo len. Bạn bước vào một cửa hàng quần áo và người bán hàng xuất hiện:

Shop assistant: May I help you?

Customer: Yes, I’m looking for a sweater.

Shop assistant: What size are you?

Customer: I’m an extra large.

Shop assistant: Would you like a plain sweater or something else?​

Customer: I’m looking for a plain blue sweater.

Shop assistant: How about this one?

Customer: Yes, that’s nice. Could I try it on?

Shop assistant: Certainly, the changing rooms are over there.

Customer: Thank you. (goes into a changing room to try on the sweater)

Shop assistant: How does it fit?

Customer: It’s too large. Do you have a large?

Shop assistant: Yes, here you are. Would you like to try it on to see if it fits?

Customer: No that’s Okay. Thank you. I’ll take it. I’m also looking for some nice slacks.

Shop assistant: Great. We have some very nice wool slacks over here. Would you like to take a look?

Customer: Yes, thanks for your help.
